In 2013, I relocated to the Pasadena/Altadena area and purchased my first home in Altadena in 2015. I met some of my current best friends during the home purchase process. Once I moved in, I gained even more friends and community members who quickly adopted me into their circle of friends. Some of those Altadena friends and neighbors have unfortunately lost their homes, and others have been financially devastated. Our home in Altadena was spared from the fire about half a mile away.

Felix and his family have operated their business serving Altadena and Pasadena clients for over 20 years. His company, Dad & Son Hardwood Floors, beautifully repaired and refinished my hardwood floors and kitchen cabinets last year. ​​
Organizations you have helped
Thank you to the many friends, family, and co-workers who have sent us funds to help our community. As of January 16, I have received $5,150 (see spreadsheet for list of donors). I have also distributed $3,277.04 in new goods (see file with receipts) and donated countless items to community members through the organizations below.

Through an effort coordinated by Friends & Neighbors Cafe, volunteers have created GoFundMe accounts for BIPOC community members who could not create accounts themselves. We have provided 20 GoFundMe accounts with at least $100 each.

We now only accept donations of new or like-new suitcases, shopping carts, new hair products, or new makeup for darker skin.
